Champs for Change (C4C) Announces Inaugural Advisory Board to Support Continued Growth Across Africa’s Sport Industry.

Johannesburg, South Africa – 26 August 2026 – Champs for Change (C4C) is pleased to announce the formation of its inaugural Advisory Board, bringing together experienced leaders across sport, business, law, governance, education, technology and organizational development to support the organisation’s continued growth across Africa.

The Advisory Board brings together Alude Xuba, Anibal Manave, Charles Thiemele, Evelyne Ndabaneze-Masumbuko, Grzegorz Botwina, Rebecca Eliot, Sarah Owusu, Temituoyo Nzewi, Uzoamaka Agyare-Kumi, and Victor Williams.

Collectively, the Board brings decades of experience across sports governance and administration, commercial strategy, investment, law, athlete development, education, leadership development, business and technology. Their combined expertise reflects the breadth of the ecosystem C4C seeks to strengthen and the diverse pathways available to young Africans within and around sport. C4C was founded on the belief that the growth of African sport must be matched by investment in the people who will build, lead and shape the industry. Through resources, mentoring, training and access to networks, C4C works to create pathways for young Africans to develop the skills, opportunities and experiences needed to contribute meaningfully to the future of African sport.

The Advisory Board will provide strategic guidance to C4C as the organisation expands its programmes, partnerships and initiatives across the continent. Advisors will contribute their experience, perspectives and networks while helping C4C strengthen its approach to youth development and opportunity creation.

ALUDE XUBA

Founder & Managing Director, Xuba & Associates Attorneys Incorporated

Alude Xuba is an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa and the Founder and Managing Director of Xuba & Associates Attorneys Inc., a boutique law firm specializing in commercial law, intellectual property and dispute resolution. His career spans corporate and commercial law, banking and project finance, gambling, fintech and legal advisory. He brings extensive experience working with technology, education, venture capital, finance and entrepreneurial businesses, alongside a strong commitment to social justice and community development.

ANIBAL MANAVE President, FIBA Africa

Anibal Manave is a Mozambican sports leader with more than three decades of experience across basketball as a player, coach, commissioner and administrator. He currently serves as President of FIBA Africa and FIBA Vice President, and has previously served as President of the Mozambique Basketball Federation and Chairman of FIBA Africa Zone 6. He also serves as President of the Mozambique Olympic Committee and brings extensive experience in continental sports governance, basketball development and sports leadership.

CHARLES THIEMELE Head of Africa Trading, BGN

Charles Thiemele is a Côte d’Ivoire-born business leader with more than two decades of experience across commodities, energy, finance and strategic advisory. As Head of Africa Trading at BGN, he leads trading activities across African markets, following senior roles at AOT Trading and SAHARA Energy. He is also the founder of Damalex AG, an advisory firm focused on strategy, finance and the oil and gas value chain. Charles brings deep experience in African markets, business development, cross-border commercial strategy, and youth entrepreneurship.

EVELYNE NDABANEZE-MASUMBUKO Group Director of Commercial & Business Development, ITM Holding

Evelyne Ndabaneze-Masumbuko is an experienced commercial and business development leader with more than 25 years of international experience across Africa. At ITM Holding, she leads commercial strategy, business development and strategic partnerships across more than 20 African countries. Her expertise spans market expansion, human capital, organizational growth and executive leadership, with a career focused on helping organisations build sustainable growth and stronger partnerships.

GRZEGORZ BOTWINA, PhD CEO, Institute for Sport Governance

Grzegorz Botwina is a sports governance specialist and academic focused on management and elite sport policy. He serves as CEO of the Institute for Sport Governance and is a lecturer at the University of Warsaw’s Faculty of Management. He has also advised Poland’s Ministry of Sport and Tourism on policy and strategic planning across elite sport and sport for all. His work brings valuable expertise in sports governance, management and policy development.

REBECCA ELIOT Co-founder & CEO, ProTouch Africa

Rebecca Eliot is Co-founder of ProTouch Africa and Podium Pursuit and the architect of The Athlete Economy. With more than 30 years of experience spanning business development, media, loyalty and digital platforms, she has become a leading voice in athlete empowerment, fan engagement and sports technology. Through her work, she connects athletes, fans, brands and investors while developing new models for participation, visibility and value creation across African sport.

SARAH OWUSU Co-founder, InkDot & Co-founder, We Will Lead Africa

Sarah Owusu is an organization development and innovation consultant focused on transformational change, leadership and organizational growth. She is a co-founder of InkDot and co-founder and editor of We Will Lead Africa, which uplifts stories of everyday African leaders and amplifies the voices and experiences shaping the continent. Her work combines organizational development, coaching, storytelling and leadership development, with a particular focus on helping people and organisations unlock their potential.

TEMITUOYO NZEWI Founder & CEO, Kone’s Tennis Cafe

Temituoyo Nzewi is an entrepreneur, author, mental tennis coach and sales and marketing professional with a deep passion for tennis and personal development. As Founder and CEO of Kone’s Tennis Cafe, she combines her experience in business and marketing with her commitment to creating opportunities around the sport. She brings to C4C a distinctive perspective on entrepreneurship, sport, mentorship and the role of personal development in building successful careers.

UZOAMAKA AGYARE-KUMI Dean, African Leadership Academy

Uzoamaka Agyare-Kumi is an educator, social activist and senior leader at the African Leadership Academy, where she currently serves as Dean. Her work has focused on education, youth development, entrepreneurship and leadership, including the development of ALA’s global programmes. Her career spans teaching, community organizing, social activism and education leadership, giving her extensive experience in helping young people develop the skills and confidence to lead and create change.

VICTOR WILLIAMS Founder & Managing Partner, Lions Range Group

Victor Williams is a global business leader with over 25 years of experience across sports, investment banking and business development in the U.S. and Africa. As former Executive Vice President at the NBA and inaugural CEO of NBA Africa, he led major initiatives including the launch and growth of the Basketball Africa League and the expansion of the NBA’s business operations across the continent. Today, through Lions Range Group, he invests in the commercialization and development of Africa’s sports ecosystem.
